Tom is a successful Business Executive and Wildlife Preservationist. After graduating from The Ohio State University, he served as an officer in the Marine Corps. He has been the President of Pomare, Ltd., Hawaii’s largest resort retailer, Chairman of the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau, and President of the Honolulu Zoological Society. Currently is a Director of  MW Group, Ltd  – a Hawaii based real estate developer, and of Maui Diver's Jewelry Co. When not at work or in the field, he and his wife live in Hawaii Kai where they raised their two sons and have resided for over 40 years.

Through the years he has studied the close ties that wildlife and their environment represent in the belief systems of native peoples.  With the goal to visually depict the wonders and importance of nature, it wasn’t long before the fascination with learning how cameras and film “see”, that photography replaced art.

While he is technically self-taught, he has been fortunate to learn from and travel with many of the world’s top film and wildlife photographers. Interacting with BBC, Discovery and National Geographic pros has provided artistic and philosophical direction for his photography.

His wilderness adventures have taken him from the Arctic’s polar bears to Africa’s Serengeti’s lions, from Alaska’s brown bears and eagles to the elk of Yellowstone, from the jaguars of Brazil to the pandas of China, and of course, have included all the other little fuzzy and feathered critters along the way.

While Tom’s images have been published, his slide shows are his focus - having educated and entertained people of all ages on the importance of preserving the environment.  He is a Director Emeritus of Polar Bears International. a worldwide organization that protects Polar Bears and their habitat through education……………..
